Position Overview:
As a Senior Architectural Cost Estimator, you will lead cost estimation for architectural and structural systems on large-scale infrastructure projects, including airports. You will oversee critical estimating efforts and support the technical development of your team through mentorship, training, and best-practice development.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Management

  • Interpret incomplete or evolving design documents to define scope, evaluate risk, and produce accurate architectural and structural cost estimates.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while planning ahead for future workload and client needs.

  • Ensure alignment across disciplines to support complete, coordinated estimates and high-quality deliverables.

Training & Mentorship

  • Train Specialists in plan review, conflict identification, conceptual estimating, reconciliations, and standardized reporting.

  • Guide Specialists and Analysts in QTO methods, pricing validation, and technical reviews.

  • Create templates, best practices, and educational materials that strengthen Connico’s estimating practice.

Estimating & Cost Analysis

  • Lead estimating efforts for architectural and structural systems including foundations, slabs, structural framing, exterior skin, interior construction, finishes, equipment, furnishings, and demolition.

  • Perform QC reviews, assign workload, and maintain consistency across deliverables.

  • Conduct value engineering, life-cycle and benefit-cost analyses, bid tab reviews, and estimate reconciliations.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines to avoid scope gaps and ensure complete project coverage.

  • Prepare ROM-level assessments, develop unit prices, and support fee estimates for new work.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Build and maintain cost assemblies and support Connico’s cost database to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Manage report templates, version control, and data organization across the practice.

  • Support the development of standardized procedures that create predictable, repeatable estimating results.

Client Engagement & Industry Relations

  • Build strong relationships through clear communication, reliability, and thoughtful guidance.

  • Serve as a technical resource and trusted advisor in client meetings and project discussions.

  • Participate in site visits and industry events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of full-time architectural and/or structural estimating experience required.

  • BS in architecture, construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, estimating, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge required.

  • Certification such as CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP, or equivalent required.

  • Proven ability to independently produce high-quality construction estimates, Levels 1–5, for projects of any size required.

  • Proven ability to manage and lead projects, ensuring timely delivery of accurate estimates, budget adherence, and integration of estimate elements from multiple disciplines required.

  • Expertise in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, MII, Success, Timberline, and formats such as MasterFormat and UniFormat required.

  • Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and engineering drawings and specifications at all design levels, including ROM, required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word) required.

  • Aviation estimating experience highly preferred.

  • Minimal travel required, including conferences, industry events, site visits, and occasional office visits.
